Hitachi Consulting, the consulting and IT division of Hitachi Ltd, has formed an alliance with Result Group, the UK-based rental software firm. The two, who have been working together for several years, will cooperate on marketing and implementing the Result Group software, rentalresult.

Mike Driessen, Hitachi Consulting managing vice president of US markets, said; "Hitachi Consulting recognises the value that Result Group brings to customers worldwide, and as part of this alliance, will work with customers with regional and worldwide rental operations".

Result Group said the alliance would increase its global reach. "We are excited to formally announce our growing alliance," said Derek Robson, president and chief executive officer of Result Group, Inc. "Together we will focus on providing additional value for customers, reducing implementation costs, while providing a strong industry solution to transform business processes and encourage innovation."

Hitachi's consulting business has operations in the US, Europe and Asia, with a client base that includes 25% of the Global 2000 and Global 100 companies. Result Group has its headquarters in Manchester, UK, as well as two US offices in Phoenix, Arizona and Atlanta, Georgia.
