Around 70 delegates from Russia's equipment rental market gathered in Ekaterinburg, Russia, in mid-October to attend the second Russian Rental Conference.

Nikita Krotkiy, president of B2B-RENT and RusRental Research, the organisations that organized the conference, said the event showed confirmed the interest in Russia's rental market; "Discussions at the conference and participation of several financial investors in the event have proved our assumption that the rental market in Russia is growing and will continue to grow quite fast in the next several years.

"And it was important that the participants were actively communicating with each other, and we hope that these events will give an opportunity to Russian rental businesses to discuss and organize joint projects."

Speakers at the conference included Larry Kaye (Script International), Scott McCall (Utility Equipment Sales Ltd) and Norman Noblet (Altec Industries Inc.) Fred Bratman, United Rentals vice president of investor relations, provided a video message to welcome the conference.

Mr Krotkiy said the conference will be held in a different city each year to attract new regional participants. The third Russian rental conference will be held next October in St Petersburg.
