Sales of the first truck mount from newly formed joint venture Palfinger Platforms Italy Srl. have reached 50 units, according to the company.

The 3.5 tonne P 200 A smart was launched at bauma in April and represents the first step in a concerted effort to expand production in this weight segment.

The joint venture between Palfinger Group and Italy-based Sky Aces Srl. was set up in February this year and will produce 'mid-market' platforms and truck bodies. Palfinger holds a majority share. (See Linked articles for more information about the joint venture).

The compact P 200 A smart has a total length 5.39 m, the shortest in its class, claims the company, and is designed to be easy to operate.

Palfinger Platforms managing director Stephan Kulawik said, “Not only is the P 200 A smart small and clever, it also offers particularly flexible access to height thanks to a combination of a joint and telescope. This is particularly important for applications in building management and tree cutting or for use by public authorities."

Other features include a maximum working height of 19.8 m, maximum lateral reach of 8.40 m and a total weight of 3,320 kg.
