Sales up 18% at Tadano

25 April 2008

Tadano Ltd in Japan has reported a strong overall rise in sales for the first three quarters (1 April to 31 December) of its 2005 fiscal year. Total sales for the period were ¥ (Yen) 86 billion ($734 million), an 18% rise compared with the same period in 2004. Net income was up by 51%, due to higher sales, by ¥4 billion ($34 million).

In its domestic market, crane sales rose to ¥54 billion (US$461 million), up 7% compared with the previous year. Tadano attributed the rise to customer fleet renewal.

Overseas, sales rose 42% to ¥32 billion ($279 million) due mainly to a substantial increase in sales of cranes to Europe and North America.

The company, which said that figures for the fiscal year 1 April 2005 to 31 March 2006 will surpass those of the previous year, forecast sales of ¥116 billion ($991 million), operating income of ¥8 billion ($68 million) and net income of ¥5 billion ($42 million).
