Two Liebherr LTC 1045-3.1 telescopic mobile cranes have helped upgrade a crane track for a gantry crane

Crane and heavy transport company Schmidbauer used a pair of Liebherr LTC 1045-3.1 telescopic wheeled mobile cranes to help upgrade a crane track for a gantry crane inside a factory building.

The work was done at the Liebherr-Hydraulikbagger factory in Kirchdorf, Austria.

The two 45 tonners were used to replace eight girders on the gantry crane track, doubling its lifting capacity from 20 tonnes to 40 tonnes, a company spokesperson said. The girders weighed 6 tonnes each.

The small space between the girders and the existing installation system meant that the cranes were fitted with an assembly jib to give the necessary height clearance to carry out the lifts.
