Skanska Norway is to develop an environmentally friendly shopping centre at Fornebu in Oslo, Norway.

The NOK920 million (120 million) contract, awarded by KLP Eiendom, will see Skanska Norway construct the shopping mall, a 36,000 m² garage, 2,500 m² of office space and four residential blocks with 78 apartments.

The project is the first of its kind to be certified in compliance with green building council BREEAM NOR's highest level, ‘Outstanding', and will feature 2,000 m² of solar panels on the roof.

Construction will start in September 2012 and is scheduled for completion in September 2014. The apartments will be completed in March 2015.
