The Access Alliance visits Snorkel’s Vigo Centre in the UK.

Snorkel UK welcomed the Access Alliance to Snorkel’s UK manufacturing facility, Vigo Centre, this month.

As the host of the Access Alliance Winter Meeting on 15 March, Snorkel UK provided conference facilities for the group at the Hilton Gateshead Quays, as well as providing a manufacturing facility tour at its Washington, Tyne & Wear base.

The Access Alliance is a collaboration of some of the UK and Ireland independently owned regional powered access sales and rental companies, which offer a consistent level of service and quality of equipment across the UK.

Commencing at 09:30, the tour was led by John Gill, president of Snorkel’s Vigo Centre, and Andrew Fishburn, managing director of Snorkel UK, who showed the lean manufacturing techniques in use at the factory, as well as the industry-leading dual-coat powder paint facility.

After the tour and the Access Alliance winter meeting, that was held in private, Snorkel UK hosted a dinner at Gateshead Quayside.

Fishburn said, “We are very grateful for the opportunity to host the Access Alliance winter meeting, and for the time they afforded us for the facility tour and dinner.”

Tony Crawford, Access Alliance chairman and director at Mr Plant Hire said, “We would like to thank Snorkel for their generous hospitality. All members found the manufacturing facility tour of great interest, and it was fantastic to see such a quality product being built right here in the UK.”
