South African growth for Verlinde

08 April 2012

Akhanani Cranes, South African distributor of Verlinde, is expanding into Rustenburg in the North West province of South Africa

Rustenburg, one of the host cities of the 2010 World Cup, is experiencing a development boom. The province mines 80% of the world's platinum, as well as also mining gold, uranium and diamonds. It therefore has an increased need for crane and lifting equipment.

France-based manufacturer of cranes and hoists, Verlinde has been working with Akhanani for many years and supports the distributor's expansion into Rustenberg.

Verlinde has been enjoying continued success in Africa, said the company. In addition to the South Africa growth, the company has also expanded into Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya.
