Statoil has awarded contracts for two Johan Sverdrup jackets to Kvaerner and Dragados Offshore.
Kvaerner’s contract, worth NOK1 billion (€108.7 million), covers engineering, fabrication and construction of the steel jacket for the Johan Sverdrup processing platform. This means Kvaerner will deliver three of the four jackets for the first phase of the Johan Sverdrup development.
Dragados will manage the engineering, fabrication and construction of the steel jacket for the utility and accommodation platform. Weighing 7,600 tonnes, the jacket will be constructed at the yard in Cadiz and installed on Johan Sverdrup field in Norway in 2018.
Kjetel Digre, senior vice president for the Johan Sverdrup development project, said, “Having documented learning and synergies in connection with existing contracts, Kvaerner has become the supplier of these three jackets and will contribute to improved competitiveness and maximised value creation from Johan Sverdrup.”
