Employees will produce a broad range of transportation equipment by the new product brand Tratec TIIGER at the production site in Bawal, Haryana India

Manufacturer of heavy and specialized transport TII Group has acquired supplier Tratec in India.

The deal was made possible following the “Make in India” programme, set out by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make way for international investments in India. Tratec has more than 30 years experience in the Indian market. Following the deal, TII India, the Indian subsidiary of TII Group, will function as a link between the existing and future Tratec civil business and the TII Group, a TII Group spokesperson said.

From 2016 TII India will offer a range of vehicles, manufactured in a 30,000 square metre facility just outside Delhi. Products, including light telescopic and non-telescopic trailers, will be marketed under the new product brand Tratec TIIGER.

Otto Rettenmaier, owner of TII Group, said, “The TII Group has grown continuously over the last decades and is a world market leader in heavy duty transporter solutions with hydraulically suspended axles for payloads of up to 15,000 tonnes. The foundation of TII India with its new production plant is the next logical step in our strategy to serve our international customers on site.”

Dr Axel Müller, TII Group Germany CEO, said “We have developed a comprehensive product portfolio. Our vehicles meet the Indian market demands. Additionally, our customers continue to profit from the entire product and accessories range of the TII Group.”

Dr Jochen Landes, TII India managing director, added, “TII India Pvt Ltd has its production site in Bawal, Haryana, India, close to Delhi. Skilled and trained by German standards, our employees produce saddle trailers, modular trailers and a broad range of accessories. ”
