A consortium has been awarded planning consent for a £110 million (€153 million) town centre regeneration scheme in Sittingbourne, Kent, UK.
The project, which includes development of six sites, will feature a seven-screen cinema, 2,694m2 of restaurant space and 3,159m2 of retail facilities.
Known as the Spirit of Sittingbourne, the project is to be developed as a public-private partnership including Quinn Estates, Swale Borough Council, and Essential Land.
The scheme is being delivered with financial support from the Development Securities property group.
Richard Upton, executive director of Development Securities, said the project would provide a base for wider regeneration of the area. The development’s first phase is expected to begin this year.
