US$34.7 million MacGregor cargo-handling deal

08 June 2009

Cargotec has received a €25 million (US$34.7 million) order to supply 96 MacGregor cargo-handling cranes destined for 24 bulk carriers at ABG Shipyard Ltd. in India.

Each vessel will receive four GLB3026-2 cranes with a 30 tonne safe working load (SWL). They will be fitted with MacGregor's new CC3000 control system, which provides smooth, fast and stepless crane control, says the company.

Delivery of the cranes, ordered by European and Asian customers, is planned to start at the end of 2009 and continue until mid-2013. They will be booked to the second quarter 2009 order intake.

"This is a significant order for MacGregor. We were able to offer the shipyard an effective crane design that met the vessels' cargo-handling needs. This, along with the consistent support from our local offices in India and Singapore during the negotiation phase, made us successful," said Paul Söderstedt, MacGregor sales manager.
