Volvo Construction Equipment has partnered with Swedish specialist mining, construction and offshore equipment manufacturer CeDe Group to add more niche machines to its European distribution network.

Volvo CE will supply the base machines with part CE marking to CeDe, which will then adapt them to specific market applications.

The agreement makes specialist equipment including road-rail machines, drilling and piling rigs, forestry bucket jibs, tunnelling machines and all-terrain forklift units available through the Volvo CE European distribution network, with an initial focus on Finland, Denmark and Norway.

Volvo CE said the agreement would also add new machines to its demolition and material handling segments.

Volvo CE global director of business development Esbjörn Fritzell said the agreement was an ideal way for the manufacturer to grow into new areas.

"The partnership will give us a reliable source for growth that takes us beyond our current capacities. Via this partnership we will be able to dramatically reduce lead-time for customers in these highly specialised applications," he said.
