World-renowned forecasters to speak at ICEF

Two world-renowned market forecasters have been confirmed as speakers at this year’s International Construction Economic Forum (ICEF) in Amsterdam, from November 20 – 22. Scott Hazelton from IHS Global Insight will present the current picture and outlook for global construction markets, while Off-Highway Research’s Paul Howard will look in-depth at construction equipment markets.

Scott Hazelton is the director of the IHS Global Insight’s construction and manufacturing industries practice. He developed and is responsible for the quarterly Global Construction Outlook as well as the US Construction Quarterly Briefing and the US Construction: State and Metropolitan Focus forecasts and commentary. He is a regular contributor to International Construction magazine.

IHS Global Insight is a forecasting company with 5100 employees and 50 offices around the world in 30 countries. It has some 3,800 clients in industry, finance and government and 80% of Fortune 500 companies are customers of global insight.

Paul Howard is a consultant with Off-Highway Research with responsibility for analysing selected European markets. He also conducts work further afield – this year will see him analyse the emerging Mongolian construction equipment market. He has previously edited Off-Highway Research reports from China and India, and before joining the company, he worked for ten years as a construction and construction machinery journalist.

Off-Highway Research is a management consultancy specialising in the research and analysis of international construction, and agricultural equipment markets, and is the largest of its kind in the world. The consultancy was formed in 1981 as part of The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) and is now privately owned. It has offices in the UK, China, India, the US and Japan.

ICEF will comprise a conference and networking opportunities, along with awards and a Gala Dinner honouring successful construction projects around the world.
