Yongmao acquires crawler maker

Chinese tower crane manufacturer Fushun Yongmao Construction Machinery Co Ltd has acquired the manufacturing licence, drawings, technical staff and property rights of crawler crane manufacturer Fushun Engineering Machinery Manufacturing Co Ltd in China.
Fushun Engineering Machinery Manufacturing Co Ltd is a former, state-owned enterprise in Fushun City, Liaoning Province. It offers a range of lattice boom crawler cranes of 30, 55, 70 and 110 tonne capacity and a low ground pressure excavator for use in soft or waterlogged ground.
Fushun Yongmao Construction Machinery Co Ltd will draw on its experience in the design and manufacture of tower cranes to develop its new crawler crane programme.
In addition, the company plans to design and build a range of heavy duty foundation crawler cranes. These will have heavy undercarriage, bigger engines and the large single line pull winches that are needed in the foundation and piling sector.
First in this new series will be an 80 tonne foundation crawler crane scheduled for completion in mid 2008. A prototype should be ready for site trials at the end of 2008. Production will start at the company's new 100,000 square metre factory due for completion in 2009. Other new models will be added to the range at a later stage.
• Fushun Yongmao has been told that it is conditionally eligible to become a public company, following its recent application to the Singapore Stock Exchange. Yongmao Holdings Pte Ltd, formerly Sunfield Investments, applied to make an initial public offer (IPO) of the company's shares in October 2007.
Yongmao was founded in 1992 by the husband and wife team Sun Zhao Lin, executive chairman, and Tian Ruo Nan, CEO, to sell construction materials and tower crane accessories.
Today, the company produces four SunCrane tower crane ranges, comprising 50 models, rated between 80 and 560 tonne-metres. The company operates a factory in Fushun, with a new facility under construction, due for completion in 2009.
