The National Demolition Association (NDA) of the USA is promoting five days of educational events as part of its Demolition Austin convention and expo which takes place in Texas next month.
Demolition Austin gets underway on Saturday February 22 but even before it starts there is a “Demolition Superintendent Bootcamp” pre-convention course.
Led by NDA directors Steve Schwartz and Greg Menen, it will cover subjects including planning, communication, people management, safety and job wrap up.
The next day, the Live Demolition site at the event will host a day of hands-on training in maintenance and safety with equipment such as excavators, purlverisers, grapples and shears.
Monday 24 February moves indoors with a succession planning workshop led by family business expert Cathy Carroll, while the convention’s traditional “fast and furious” sessions will cover areas comprising government relations, workers’ compensation, safety updates and others.
Finally, OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) compliance assistance specialist Joann Natarajan will talk on regulatory updates and answer questions from the audience.
Keynote speaker at this year’s convention is Seth Mattison, who has advised some of the world’s leading brands and organisations on leadership and innovation.
