A Powerscreen XH320SR impact crusher is providing aggregate and asphalt processing capabilities to California-based Ghilotti Brothers

San Rafael, California, is home to Ghilotti Brothers, who carries out general contracting, earthmoving and demolition work throughout northern California. The company recently took delivery of a new Powerscreen XH320SR tracked impact crusher to enhance its recycling capabilities.

The new crusher performs two main functions, the first of which is at four crushing yards owned or leased by Ghilotti at Lakewood, Crockett, south San Francisco and San Rafael.

Concrete and asphalt is trucked into these sites by the company from its excavating, demolition and other sites for crushing after which the resulting product is used on Ghilotti's various construction contracts or sold on to other contractors.

Other contractors in the area also bring their rubble, which is stockpiled for crushing. The sites produce 19 mm (0.75 inch) base and drain (clean) materials, plus 25 mm (1 inch) and 12.7 mm (0.5 inch) products. Ghilotti sometimes blends in some asphalt, resulting in a sub-base product.

The XH320 is also periodically transported to specific job sites where Ghilotti is working on demolition or paving work to crush concrete and/or asphalt. The machine is also used to carry out contract crushing at customers' own locations.
