JCB has appointed Bell Equipment Sales South Africa (BESSA) as its official distributor for South Africa.

From May 1, 2021, BESSA will provide sales, distribution and support services for the manufacturer’s full range of construction equipment.

The dealer, which also manufactures its own construction and mining equipment, including articulated dumper trucks, was established in 1954 and now operates in over 80 countries.

With more than 150 offshore distribution outlets and a global staff of around 3,500 employees, BESSA was described as a key distributor for JCB’s equipment in the South African market.

Andrew Boyers, JCB general manager Africa, said, “We are delighted to have a dealer of Bell Equipment’s calibre to represent us in South Africa.

“BESSA has more than 20 branches strategically located throughout the country, highly skilled staff, strong training and development programmes and a market leading position in a number of applications and sectors.

“Combine that with Bell Equipment’s renowned focus on customers and deep roots in South Africa, and that gives us enormous confidence for the future.”

Duncan Mashika, BESSA Managing Director, said, “This is an exciting opportunity for BESSA and we look forward to putting a JCB into every corner of the country. We eagerly anticipate this great new partnership and continuing to support customers, both old and new, with world-class products and service.”

The latest announcement comes just six months after the news that BESSA is to end its distribution partnership with John Deere.

Yellowbook The Yellow Book is now available online as a fully searchable and free-to-use directory of a wide selection of construction equipment.
