German rentals growing for Alimak Hek
30 June 2009
The German rental market for Alimak Hek's mast climbing equipment is growing against a backdrop of construction downturn in the country, said Frank Klessens in an exclusive interview with Access International.
Mr Klessens, who recently added the role of managing director of Alimak Hek Manufacturing to his position as executive vice president heading up the rental and used sales businesses of Alimak Hek, said that the German rental market had been growing an average of 15% per year and was particularly active last year. "We expect much larger growth when the market picks up he said."
Alimak Hek has a rental facility in Eppingen, near Stuttgart and depots in Berlin and Dortmund carrying around 300 units.
Not all markets are thriving and Alimak Hek has withdrawn its rental businesses from Spain, where the market had massively declined, and from Korea.
While the French rental market has declined a little Mr Klessens said that Australia and the US were performing well.
