The delivery guarantee applies to 30 products, including excavators, telehandlers, rollers, dumpers, scissor lifts and booms.

UK rental company Hewden is starting 2014 with expansion plans that will see it hire 50 new recruits and add 100 Thwaites dumpers to its fleet.

To consolidate its fleet, the firm has struck a £2 million deal with Thwaites for 100 site dumpers as part of a wider £51 million fleet investment.

The Thwaites order covers dumper trucks of 3 and 6 t straight and swivel, and 9 t straight machines. The 6 and 9 t machines will be fitted with Deutz engines.

Hewden marketing director, Jeff Schofield, said: “We are delighted to announce this investment in a range of new dumpers to grow our existing fleet. Each machine is part of our core fleet with a next day delivery guarantee. The new additions will simply allow us to say ‘yes’ to more customers.”

The Thwaites deal is one in a succession of purchase orders made by Hewden. The firm is also extending its core fleet with standard accommodation units.

To keep pace with increased demand, the firm is also recruiting with 50 new job vacancies announced across the company.

The vacancies are for roles across the company and positions include; drivers, engineers, hire controllers, sales and back office support staff in Manchester, where Hewden’s headquarters are based.

The move follows on from the launch last year of its Core Fleet Guarantee, which guarantees next day delivery on selected 'core' items. Hewden said it had taken more than 20000 orders under the offering in the past year.

Hewden is now extending its core fleet with standard accommodation units being added to the existing 30-product range.
