Kenz Cranes has delivered two cranes for Seadrill's West Rigel semi-submersible drilling unit

A pair of EHC 100/4000 boom hoist cranes designed and built by Kenz Cranes in the Netherlands have been handed over to offshore drilling contractor Seadrill for the West Rigel semi-submersible drilling unit.

Kenz Cranes specialises in custom-made lifting equipment designed to comply with Norwegian standards, DNV 2.22/Norsok R002 and EN13852-1.

The cranes for this project focus on low and easy maintenance and high safety and reliability, helped by the use of redundant load cells, power packs and cameras.

Both cranes were manufactured and function and load tested at Kenz Cranes' production facility in Zaandam, Netherlands.

Crane modules were specially designed to be containerised and to fit on 40 foot (12 metre) flatbeds, a big advantage for global transportation.
