Liebherr Maritime Cranes collects the Crane of the Year at the International Bulk Journal Awards 2013, held in Paris, France

The Liebherr MPG multi-purpose grab crane has been awarded Crane of the Year at the International Bulk Journal Awards 2013, held in Paris, France.

This is the fifth time the awards have been presented, and the fourth time that Liebherr Maritime Cranes has been awarded this title.

The Liebherr MPG multi-purpose grab crane is designed for high speed and continuous operation, the manufacturer said. It is fitted with Litronic Robot Control (LRC) and Dynamic Anti-Collision System (DACS) for easier operation and increased safety when working around other cranes. In addition, no luffing ropes are required, resulting in less wear on ropes and a low centre of gravity.

Twenty units of Liebherr MPG cranes are installed on transhippers around the world. The crane configurations vary up to 45 tonnes SWL at working radii up to 45 metres.
