MEC Aerial Work Platforms debuted two new slab scissors during The Rental Show, Feb. 21-24 in Atlanta.

On the smaller side of the spectrum, MEC showed its 1330SE micro-slim electric scissor lift that features 13 feet of platform height and is designed to compete with vertical mast lifts. The scissor has a 24-inch roll-out extension, direct electric drive, retractable pothole protection and all of the unit's components are located in one, slide-out tray.

On the larger end, the company also showed its new 4555SE electric slab scissor. With a working height of 51 feet, the machine can be driven when extended at full height. It has a 55 inch overall width, zero inside turning radius, standard swing gate and direct electric drive.

"We had to make changes to remain competitive," said Jim Tolle, vice president of international sales for MEC. "The 4555SE is the only scissor [in this class] on the market without outriggers."

Both units are available globally and in production now.
