Metso extends South American presence

Metso has opened a new technology centre in Arequipa in Peru to provide local support for its South American customers. Employing 70, the technology centre will support the company’s customers in the mining, aggregates and process industries and is already fully operational.

"With the Arequipa technology center, the delivery time for results to our customers and the costs of testing will reduce. Also the technology center complements Metso's local offering to our customers in the region, enabling us to optimize our customer operations locally," said Roberto Valle, general manager technology, Peru.

Metso has close to 50 service centers globally for its customers in the mining and aggregates industries. Recent additions to Metso's chain of service centers for mining and aggregates customers include facilities in Arizona, USA, and Mexico. According to the company, a new service center will be opening in Labrador City, Canada later this year.
