Swedish modular home manufacturer SIBS has secured a deal to deliver 2,174 apartments to NEOM in Saudi Arabia.

SIBS has signed an engineered equipment supply contract for manufacture the apartments, to be distributed among 35 buildings in the Saudi Arabia’s special economic zone in the north west of the country.

The apartments will serve as homes for staff working on the construction of NEOM.

The entire project will be delivered and commissioned by the third quarter of 2024.

The buildings consist of one- and two-bedroom apartments equipped with designed kitchens, bathrooms and balconies to each apartment.

They will also be fitted with solar panels and are designed for future relocation if needed elsewhere as the NEOM project progresses.

Erik Thomaeus, CEO of SIBS, said, “We are very proud to have been awarded this contract and also excited to be a part of the development of NEOM. Our substantial capacity and ability to adapt systems and production to different regulations, climates, and needs have all been decisive in the process.”
