25 April 2008

In the US the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) and the North American Crane Bureau (NACB) have formed a strategic partnership to develop and deliver certification methods for mobile crane operators.

Don Whyte, NCCER president, said, “The partnership brings together decades of combined expertise in the areas of technical skill training and test development.”

The NCCER/NACB mobile crane certification programme will consist of four written exams and 13 practical exams. Each written exam focuses on load charts per make and model of crane. The practical exams will test, not only hook manoeuvring, but also carrier manoeuvring and setting outriggers.
