Red-D-Arc acquires Texas renter D&D Power

03 January 2013

Welding rental specialist Red-D-Arc Inc has acquired D&D Power, a Texas-based company that rents power and lighting towers to the oil and gas industry. D&D reported annual revenues of around US$25 million last year.

The acquisition brings 53 employees and rental locations in La Vernia, Decatur, and Big Lake in Texas, and Jal in New Mexico. Red-D-Arc is a subsidiary of Airgas Inc, the US supplier of industrial, medical and specialty gases.

D&D Power CEO Pam Huffman said; “Red-D-Arc played a key role in helping us grow our business. Now customers will have all the resources of Red-D-Arc and Airgas in addition to what D&D Power provided."

Airgas president and CEO Michael Molinini said the combination of D&D with Red-D-Arc's welder rental business and Airgas on-site safety services, meant that its offering to oilfield services, construction, and other energy-related markets “has never been stronger.”

Airgas employs 15000 staff at 1100 locations, including branches, retail stores, gas fill plants, specialty gas labs, production facilities and distribution centres.
