German company Zeppelin Group has introduced a new division for its rental operation targeting small and micro customers.

Zeppelin said the Fast Rent division was aimed at the gardening and landscaping, construction, expansion, renovation, restoration and modernisation markets.

It said Fast Rent - which is a 100% subsidiary of Zeppelin Rental - offered standardised products and processes as well as an online platform with e-payment, with the idea of making rental faster and more simple.

The Fast Rent portfolio includes mini excavators, wheeled loaders, vibratory plates, horticultural technology, trailer units, compressors, floodlights, diamond cutting technology and power tools.

Zeppelin said all Fast Rent products were available 24 hours a day, seven days a week from www.fastrent.de. Fast Rent depots can be found in Bochum, Dortmund, Dusseldorf-Rath, Duisburg, Essen, Hattingen, Kamp-Lintfort and Münster.

"With Fast Rent we are expanding our business model and tapping into an audience that we currently do not directly serve," said Mr Schrader, managing director of Zeppelin Rental and Fast Rent.

"We are starting with eight locations central urban locations, and we plan to open two more depots by the end of August," said Antonio Ciborro-Madrid, manager of Fast Rent.

"With 45 pieces of construction equipment around 125 tools per location, we guarantee an extremely high availability for customers with short lead times. They also benefit from our fast and uncomplicated 24/7 online settlement."
