Sydney traffic bridge demolished

Mainline Demolition carries out the demolition of the Old Traffic Bridge in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, on behalf of client Georgiou Group.

The project, which won a 2021 World Demolition Award in the Civils catergory, included the removal of the existing bridge (except permanent works structures), the partial removal of bridge piles to 1.5 m (5 ft below) riverbed level and the removal of a walkway.

The work had to be undertaken without damaging the surrounding flora and fauna, and without compromising the built form of the bridge, where it abutts the South and North bridge approach roads. To read the full article, click here.
