Lawson Software, Inc has signed a definitive agreement to be acquired by a San Francisco-based private equity company Golden Gate Capital and business software company Infor for approximately US$2 billion.

Norwegian rental software company Aimit AS has changed its name to Armada Dynamics AS to better reflect its international strategy. Armada is the name of its North American subsidiary that was opened last year.
US rental veteran Bryan Rich has joined SmartEquip as executive chairman. Mr Rich has a 30 year career in rental during which he held senior positions at companies including Logan Equipment, NationsRent and Sunbelt Rentals.
A-Plant in the UK has developed software that will allow its customers to order equipment directly using their own internal IT systems. The ‘web services’ offering goes beyond the standard extranet solution where customers use an external website managed by their rental supplier.
